Drive Engineering

Engineers for movement

Drive engineering is concerned with movement by means of power transmission from machines, the supply of energy to and control of the drive elements – independently of the drive train. Drive trains may include gearboxes in the function of torque converters, as well as clutches. Hence, drive engineering is an important area of mechanical engineering.

The drive engineering distinguishes between the following different types of drives: fluid drives, such as pneumatic drives, hydraulic drives, jet engine drives and turbine drives, electromechanical drives, manual drives, electric drives and mechanical drives.

With its engineers for drive engineering from actuators, automotive engineering, precision engineering, aeronautical engineering and space technology, medical technology, metallurgy and defense systems, ROSA has an interesting pool of knowledge sources for such projects.
