Infotainment and Connectivity

From the car radio to autonomous driving

The infotainment system combines multiple systems such as the radio, navigation system, hands-free system, driver assistance systems into one unit and also offers the occupants increased comfort, ease of operation and ultimately road safety as well. The operation and interaction with the driver is done by Head Up Units, displays as well as control elements such as voice control, touch screen or buttons and switches.

Connectivity stands for networking. Typical applications are found in radio and navigation, integration of mobile devices and multimedia systems with the vehicle as well as in telematics. Connectivity will become even more important in connection with autonomous driving. Networking of the vehicle with the traffic infrastructure is the future.
